Bamford joined Nottingham Forest FC Academy in 1999 after being spotted
playing for Muskham Cougars FC and progressed to make his debut in 2011.
Bamford was then signed for Chelsea FC on 31 January 2012 for a
£1.5million transfer fee. After spending time in the reserves, he
was sent out on various loans, MK Dons FC on 22 November 2012, extending
his six-week deal until the end of the season, and then for a full year.
Before that deal had expired, Chelsea announced his loan deal with Derby
County FC on 3 January 2014 until the end of the season. The following
season, Middlesbrough FC announced his loan on 29 August 2014, initially
until the end of the year, but extended until the end of the season. He
returned to Stamford Bridge to be loaned to rivals Crystal Palace FC on 21
July 2015, until Bamford himself ended the spell on 28 December. He joined
Norwich City FC on 30 January 2016, his loan spell ending at the end of
the season. He then joined Burnley FC on 30 August 2016 for a season-long
loan, but cutting it short on 14 January 2017 after falling out with his
manager, Sean Dyche. Bamford then left Chelsea FC four days later to
rejoin Middlesbrough FC in a £5.5 million deal. After failing to get
his club promoted, Bamford joined Leeds United AFC on 31 July 2018 for £7 million. |
