	   This
purple kit (officially aubergine) was released on 6 February 2007
alongside England's new home kit. Aside from the colour, it was
the immediately striking all-white crest that stood it apart from its contemporaries.
		On the
field, it was the outfit that saw England return to the national stadium
at Wembley, amidst a faltering European Championship qualification
campaign and it was a night in Moscow on a synthetic pitch that
signalled the end of Paul Robinson's reign as first-choice 'keeper. He
was blamed for Russia's winning goal and never played for England again. |
