Description
	Interlocking pattern of crosses in three different shades of green, covering the entire front of the shirt, with a smaller version of the pattern covering the shoulders and upper sleeves. Spearmint (pale) green crew-neck collar, lower sleeves and reverse of the shirt. Large embroidered Bermuda green emblem on left breast. Embroidered white star above the emblem. Lower-case 'v' in white below the emblem. A white scroll, outlined in blue, below the 'v', with the opponent's name in capitalised blue lettering within it, and the year in white below the scroll. Two embroidered white concentric diamonds on right breast. Plain white number one on reverse and on right breast below the Umbro logo. Surname in capitalised white lettering above number on reverse, in same font as the numbers. Spearmint green shorts, with white drawstring. Plain white number on left thigh in same font as on shirt, with two embroidered white concentric diamonds underneath. Bermuda green emblem on right thigh. Plain white socks, with spearmint green footings.
Variations	For the two European Championship qualification fixtures, England had logos embroidered onto the upper sleeves. The UEFA EURO 2012 QUALIFIERS logo was on the right arm and the UEFA RESPECT logo was on the left arm. Scott Carson wore number 12 against Sweden. For the games against Norway, France and Italy, the 'v' and the year below the scroll were changed to blue. Against France, a different UEFA EURO 2012 logo was embroidered onto the right sleeve, whilst the UEFA RESPECT logo was again on the left sleeve. John Ruddy wore number 13 against Italy. In the last match that this kit was worn, against Montenegro, England had the 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP BRAZIL QUALIFIERS logo embroidered onto the right sleeve and the MY GAME IS FAIR PLAY FIFA logo on the left sleeve. The names of England's opponents, as they appeared in the scrolls, were FRANCE, ITALY, MONTENEGRO, NORWAY, SPAIN, SWEDEN and WALES.

Ruddy kept a clean sheet in the 45 minutes that he appeared, but he failed to win another cap.

This kit was the last Umbro goalkeeping outfit worn by England, and what a dazzler it was! The shades of green really took the breath away and had people reaching for their own shades. It was unlike anything that had gone before and its design really pushed the boat out, to a level not seen since the inglorious colour explosions of the 1990s. The cross theme used on the past two white outfield kits was taken to an extreme, by comprising virtually the whole of the shirt, or, at least, the front of it. Interestingly, with Joe Hart rolling his sleeves up to the elbow in every game, and the fashion of outfield players wearing short sleeves over base layers, this top actually looked like it was being worn with a base layer when the sleeves were rolled down. The unfortunate thing about the pattern on the front of the shirt was that it was so busy that it was almost impossible to pick out the markings such as the star above the emblem and the scroll with the opponents' name on. Surprisingly, this included the Umbro logo, so prominent in the past, but now hidden in white, when any dark colour would have made it stand out. Perhaps, the biggest innovation, however, was the emblem rendered entirely in Bermuda green. This style of a single-coloured emblem had been teased on various shorts in the previous two years, as a non-contrasting colour on both outfield and goalkeeping kits, but now hit the upper torso, though cunningly camouflaged by the multiple rows of green crosses in different shades. The following year's new white kit, with an entirely standout red emblem, was the final stage of the metamorphosis into the public consciousness. Oh, and England were unbeaten when wearing this kit.
