In unofficial fixtures between
the two countries, England beat New Zealand in two tour matches in
June 1961, 8-0 in Wellington and 6-1 in Auckland. New Zealand, on
their 1964 World Tour, visited England and lost 4-0 in Northampton in
April. England returned to New Zealand in June 1969 and won 7-1 in
Auckland and 5-0 in both Hamilton, and a few days later, again in
Auckland.
England were due to face New Zealand at
National Stadium on 7 November 2020, postponed because of Co-vid pandemic
regulations
