Notes

On 21 May 2006, Montenegro held a referendum to seek full independence. The state union with Serbia effectively came to an end after Montenegro's formal declaration of independence on 3 June 2006 and Serbia's formal declaration of independence two days later.

Serbia is considered by FIFA and UEFA to be the official successor team of Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro teams. However, in order to distinguish the country from Montenegro, we view them as new opposition.
