Match Report
by Norman Giller |
Trevor Cherry, with two
teeth knocked out by a punch, was unluckily sent off with the culprit
Bertoni in the eighty second minute. It was Bertoni who had equalised a
third minute goal by Stuart Pearson when he scored with a curling
free-kick in the fifteenth minute. The game became bogged down in
midfield, with England unable to penetrate Argentina's in-depth defence.
Emlyn Hughes cleared off the goal-line in the closing moments.
