substitute notes:

Another injury to Bryan Robson means he is replaced by a substitute for a record-equaling tenth occasion, equal with Tony Woodcock.
This is only the second occasion that England have used four substitutions in one match. In the same stadium as the first occasion eleven monts earlier.
Manager Bobby Robson played for England against Mexico in May 1961, scoring one in the 8-0 rout.

    Match Report by Norman Giller

A convincing victory over World Cup hosts Mexico in a warm-up match was spoilt by the sight of skipper Bryan Robson going off with a dislocated shoulder. Mark Hateley gave England an early 2-0 lead with two magnificent headers, and the third victory-clinching goal was Peter Beardsley's first for England.
