Began his footballing career with Horden CW. Signed as an amateur for Blackpool
FC when he was 17years old, ahead of Millwall FC. Garrett signed professional forms in 1946. Guested for Horden and Easington FC's during the war years.
After refusing terms with Blackpool, he joined Millwall FC on 10 May 1961.
His desire to return north was granted when he joined Fleetwood FC
(Lancashire Combination) on 15
August 1962, and Wigan Athletic FC a year later. Within another year, he
was playing for Australian side Mayfield United FC in New South Wales. |
