Played
junior football in Nottingham, including South Notts. FC, before joining the Nottingham Rangers FC. Shelton then guested for Notts County FC in
1885-86 before being appointed as the Rangers captain. Shelton severed his
long standing connection with Rangers on 31 August 1888. He joined Notts
County FC soon after and played with them periodically until 1893; He did
return to Rangers in the mid-1889, where he was appointed as the honorary
secretary for the summer. Then re-appointed in March 1890. He was also
playing for Burton Wanderers FC in 1889 and 1891. Nottingham Forest FC in October 1891,
as well as Loughborough FC the same year. |
