"Generally speaking it was a very unsatisfactory sort of game. There were too many 'incidents' and injuries, and the unsportsmanlike attitude of the spectators, who cheered each time an English player had to be attended by the trainer, did not tend to improve matters. Jack Bowers, who scored England's third goal, was off the field for a short time with an injured knee."
Tom Grosvenor became the 100th England player to score on his debut.

    Match Report

England beat Ireland at Windsor Park, Belfast, on Saturday by three goals to none, when about 40,000 spectators were present...

Half an hour had passed when England took the lead through Brook, who, receiving the ball from Crooks, shot past Scott without delay...

...Grosvenor scored a second goal for England and Bowers scored a third with a fine dash through the defence and a well-placed shot. - The Times - Monday 16th October, 1933
