Club(s) Started with his local club Newton Rangers FC before joining Chesterfield FC in 1922 for �10. Seventy league appearances later, scoring once,  Leeds United AFC signed Edwards in March 1925 for �1500, where he remained until his retirement through the Second World War, scoring six league goals in 417 league appearances.
