    Match Report

IN OTHER NEWS...

It was on 27 May 1927 that the United Kingdom severed diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union following the discovery of "military espionage and subversive activities" being performed on behalf of the Soviet government. The Soviet Embassy in London was given ten days to close and its staff to withdraw from the UK. Relations were restored, two years later, under the new Labour government.
