Frustrated by limited opportunities with England's traditional colours, this garish paint explosion finally unleashed the kit designer's desire to experiment with the goalkeeper's kit. Mercifully, it lasted less than a year, though its replacement was arguably, not much better, though associated with more success.

Paired with the 1993 white kit on three of its four appearances, this kit couldn't really have been more successful, with four Wembley friendly victories without conceding a goal.

The number-13 shirt in the first two pictures (above left) was worn by Michael Oakes for the Under-21s in the 1994 Toulon Tournament. It is part of Ed Holland's Wolves Football Shirts Instagram collection.
