Club Career

Club(s) An Englishman in Ireland, George junior followed his father and his managerial career, becoming an amateur with Ards FC of Northern Ireland, before signing professional in May 1956. Within weeks, Newcastle United FC signed him for £9000, and in November 1960, Arsenal FC signed him for £47,500.  Following the triumphant World Cup Finals, Eastham signed for Stoke City AFC for £30,000 in August 1966, before travelling to South Africa with Cape Town club, Hellenic FC, where he was player/manager from February to August 1971. He was replaced as manager by his father.  George junior returned to Stoke City AFC in October 1971, where he remained until retiring in February 1975.

Management Career

Club(s) Whilst at Stoke City AFC, Eastham was offered the post of player/assistant manager in December 1972, a position he held until he retired from playing in February 1975. He became caretaker manager of City in February 1977, taken the role full-time in May 1977 until January 1978.
