All information is
complete to and including England's last match, the third of the 2014-15 season,
against San Marino on 9 October 2014.
Diary
Sunday, 23 February 2014
- England's 2016 UEFA European Championship qualifying fixtures have today been
drawn up and finalised, following the draw was a meeting between all of the Group
E member
associations in Warsaw. The Three Lions will begin their campaign in
Switzerland in September 2014.
Thursday, 2 October 2014
- Roy Hodgson has named a 21-man squad.
He has handed a first call-up to Southampton
defender Nathaniel Clyne, while also recalling Arsenal full-back Kieran Gibbs
and Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey. There is also a return to the squad
for Liverpool's Adam Lallana, who missed last month's games against Norway and
Switzerland due to injury. Defenders Calum Chambers and Luke Shaw,
although with the under-21 sqaud, remain on standby to the full squad.
Sunday, 5 October 2014
- John Stones is ruled out of the squad after picking up an injury
inerton's defeat at Manchester United. He has damaged ankle
ligaments which will rule him out of action for several weeks. He is
replaced with Arsenal's Calum Chambers.
Tuesday, 7 October 2014
- Fabian Delph is doing a recovery session at St.
Georges Park after picking up a knock in Aston Villa's game at
the weekend.
Wednesday, 8 October 2014
- Roy Hodgson has insisted he
would not be making "wholesale changes" to his lineup for the match
against San Marino tomorrow. "We are keen to keep the momentum going.
I think the players who played against Norway and against Switzerland
did a good job and deserve further confidence. There are also a lot of
players knocking on the door and I've got to weigh the two things very
carefully - keeping the team together but maybe also using at least
one of these two games as a chance to see somebody else play. I think
that the players I select tomorrow will be anxious to play at the
highest of their levels. That should be difficult for a team like San
Marino to live with and I think that that will lead to us scoring
goals. But quite frankly, I don't think that the qualification this
time around is going to hang on goal difference anyway."
Thursday, 9 October 2014
- Everton's John Stones is to
undergo surgery on his ankle injury and will be out for 10-14 weeks,
manager Roberto Martinez has revealed. England dispatch San Marino
with relative ease at Wembley following a 5-0 victory. A Jagielka
header was followed by Rooney's penalty, his 42nd goal. Welbeck then
made it three and despite Adam Lallana's deflection going in from an
Oxlade-Chamberlain strike being ruled out, substitute Townsend soon
made it four. Rooney finished off the rout when his cross hit
Della Velle's chest to deflect it past his own goalkeeper.
Saturday, 11 October 2014
- The England squad arrive in
Tallinn and after the team wander around the stadium, Roy Hodgson
confirms that he has a fully fit squad to chose from.
