Club Career

Club(s) Started his junior career with Bradford City AFC, leaving for the youth academy at Leeds United AFC in September 2001, signing professionally on 11 January 2008. And soon his performances were getting him noticed by Premier League managers, having bids turned down by Arsenal FC and Newcastle United FC in the January 2009 transfer window. Having played 46 League One appearances, and scoring six goals, one of which was goal of the season, Delph turned down Everton FC, Manchester City FC and numerous other Premier League clubs, and tied up a deal to join Aston Villa FC on 3 August 2009. However, after 26 Premier League appearances, rejoined Leeds United AFC on loan on 20 January 2012 and made five Championship appearances. Since he returned to Villa, has made 107 Premier League appearances, scored three, up until 2014-15. On 11 July 2015, it was certain that Delph had joined Manchester City FC, but in an issued statement, Delph stated he was remaining as captain of Villa. Yet, a week later, Delph signed a five year contract with Manchester City FC on 17 July for £8 million. He made just 24 Premier League appearances, scoring three in his first two seasons, that was plagued with injuries.

An initial 26 players were selected by Roy Hodgson on May 16 for three warm-up games. On the eve of England's second warm-up game against Australia, Fabian Delph dropped to standby for the tournament, because of a groin injury, leaving Hodgson needing to remove only two more names from his list.
