All information
is complete to and including England's last match, the eighth of
the 2025-26 season, against Japan on 31 March 2026.
Diary
Wednesday, 11 February 2026 - England will complete their World Cup preparations with matches against New Zealand and Costa Rica in Florida in June.
The Three Lions will be based in Kansas City, Missouri for the tournament.
England will hold their pre-tournament training camp in Florida and face New Zealand on Saturday, 6 June before taking on Costa Rica on Wednesday, 10 June.
England's training base for the tournament will be the state-of-the-art Swope Soccer Village, after the FA identified Kansas City as its preferred location in January 2025.
Swope Soccer Village is a training facility of MLS club Sporting Kansas City, located in Kansas City's Swope Park.
England will travel to each location from their Kansas City base and return after each game.
Thurday, 9 April 2026 - The Football
Association have confirmed England's pre-World Cup Finals itinary.
They will fly to Florida on 1 June for a training camp and play a
friendly against New Zealand at Raymond James Stadium on the 6th. They
will then travel to Orlando's Inter&Co Stadium four days later to face
Costa Rica. England were due to play their second friendly at Inter Miami’s new stadium but after an agreement could not be reached and that included the MLS club’s recent temporary home in Fort Lauderdale, it was agreed to switch the match to the home of MLS side Orlando City which has a 25,000 capacity.
Monday, 11 May 2026 - Thomas Tuchel
has submitted a provisional squad of between 35 and 55 names, as per FIFA requirements.
That list will probably include those players included in the most
recent squads, but also includes Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarrad
Branthwaite, Alex Scott, Luke Shaw and Danny
Welbeck.
Tuesday,
12 May 2026 -
Arsenal defender Ben White will miss the rest of the season
with a knee injury and is set to miss out on England's World Cup
campaign. The 28-year-old picked up the injury in the first half of
Arsenal's 1-0 win at West Ham on Sunday and was seen leaving London
Stadium in a knee brace. In a statement, the club said White has
sustained a "significant medial ligament injury" which will rule him
out of the last two Premier League games and the Champions League
final on 30 May. "Our medical team are now managing Ben's recovery and
rehabilitation programme, with everyone fully focused on supporting
the aim of Ben being ready for the start of our pre-season
preparations."
Thursday, 21 May 2026
- Phil Foden and Cole Palmer are set to miss on this summer's
World Cup. Harry Maguire will also be left out, with the 33-year-old
saying he is "shocked and gutted" at the decision. Ollie Watkins is
set to be included - after helping his side win the Europa League on
Wednesday - alongside Ivan Toney, who has scored 32 goals in 32 games
in the Saudi Arabian league this season. Morgan Gibbs-White is set to
miss out, despite being the top-scoring English player in the Premier
League this season. Luke Shaw is also set to be omitted despite his
impressive season. Levi Colwill and Fikayo Tomori are expected to be
left out, though Noni Madueke is expected to make the cut. He joins
his Premier League-winning team-mates Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and
Ebere Eze. The omissions of Maguire, Tomori and Colwill mean
Manchester City defender John Stones is very likely to be included,
despite his injury-disrupted campaign. Tuchel views Stones as a key
player but has been concerned about the departing Manchester City
man's fitness. Adam Wharton is another poised to miss out, but
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to keep his place in
the squad after earning a recall for the previous friendlies. There is
an expectation that Brentford midfielder Jordan Henderson, who has
been a mainstay under Tuchel, will keep his place.
