Club(s) |
Froggatt
was playing football with the RAF during his time with them, and playing
his amateur football with Portsmouth FC in 1945, turning professional in
September of that year. He turned down an offer from Bogota in June 1950,
and then almost
joined Arsenal FC on 16 September 1953, with terms agreed between the
clubs, he preferred to remain with the
Pompey. However, Middlesbrough FC, on 1 March 1954, agreed to pay £15,000
for Froggatt, but this was declined, but the following day, Leicester City
FC also offered a £15,000 transfer fee for his services, which Froggatt
duly signed. He became a player-coach at Kettering Town FC on 19 November
1957, who had paid a club record fee of £6000 for Froggatt, a day after he
was considering offers from Southend United FC. He stepped up to being the
player-manager the following January. He relinquished the managerial role
in September 1961, carrying on as a player until the end of the 1962-63
season. |
