All information is
complete to and including England's last match, the eleventh of the 2012-13 season,
against Brazil on 2 June 2013.
Diary
Sunday, 17 June 2012 -
The Football Association have confirmed that
England confirm that they will play Scotland as part of their 150th
anniversary celebrations.
Thursday,
8 August 2013 - Roy Hodgson has
named his England squad.
Southampton striker Rickie Lambert has been called up for the first
time. Wayne Rooney is also included in the squad for the game on
Wednesday, 14 August despite missing most of pre-season because of
injury problems. Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has been
promoted from the Under-21s.
Friday,
9 August 2013 - England are the only nation to have provided
four World Cup final (or final game) referees: George Reader in Brazil
1950, William Ling in Switzerland 1954, Jack Taylor in West Germany
1974 and Howard Webb in South Africa in 2010.
The FA has appointed
officials from those nations: Brazil (assistant referee Alessandro
Rocha Matos), Switzerland (fourth official Alain Bieri), Germany
(Brych) and South Africa (assistant referee Enock Molefe).
Sunday,
11 August 2013 - Manchester United winger Ashley Young has
withdrawn from the England squad through injury. The 28-year-old has
been suffering with an ankle problem and missed today's Community
Shield win over Wigan Athletic. A
Football Association statement
said there had been discussions between England medical staff and
their counterparts at Manchester United. No replacement has been
called up and Young has returned to his club. Wayne Rooney also
missed his side's win at Wembley due to his shoulder injury, but may
take some part in the Wembley friendly. Both the England seniors
and Under-21s are training at St George's Park and are being managed
by Roy Hodgson for their respective games against Scotland this week.
Wednesday,
14 August 2013 - On the morning of the match, Michael Carrick
withdraws from the squad due to an eye infection.
Thursday,
15 August 2013 - Discussions regarding a return match between
England and Scotland at Hampden Park have taken place between the
respective football associations. However, the date for any
match is dependent on the qualifying draw for Euro 2016, which takes
place in February next year.
