All information is
complete to and including England's last match, the first of the 2014-15 season,
against Norway on 3 September 2014.
Diary
Sunday, 23 February 2014
- England's 2016 UEFA European Championship qualifying fixtures have today been
drawn up and finalised, following the draw was a meeting between all of the Group
E member
associations in Warsaw. The Three Lions will begin their campaign in
Switzerland in September 2014.
Thursday, 28 August 2014
- Roy Hodgson names his first squad since the World Cup Finals as
well as the new team Captain. It is the first squad of the 21st century to not
consider Frank Lampard after he retired from internationals
earlier this week. Steven Gerrard is another big name to be omitted after his
decision to retire last month. Along with four players who receive their first
call-ups, Calum Chambers, Jack Colback, Fabian Delph and Danny Rose, Wayne
Rooney is named the new Captain of the England team.
Monday, 1 September 2014 - Arsenal sign Danny
Welbeck from Manchester United for £16 million on transfer deadline day.
Tuesday, 2
September 2014 - All but one of the squad, Jack Colback, is fit
for friendly match tomorrow night. Hodgson confirms that none of
the uncapped players will start the match, but those starting the
match will be a relative young side. There is also a doubt over the
fitness of Arsenal new boy, Danny Welbeck, he received a knock in
today's training session.
Wednesday, 3
September 2014 - Ben Foster has returned to West Bromwich
Albion for treatment on an injury suffered during England training,
the Football Association has announced. That means he is out of
tonight's friendly with Norway and is almost certain to miss Monday's
qualifier in Switzerland. England defeat Norway by a single Wayne
Rooney penalty. The seventeen players involved all come through
unscathed. Chambers and Delph received their debuts. Following the
match, Jack Colback returned to Newcastle for treatment and will miss
the trip to Switzerland.
Friday, 5 September 2014 - England
are training at St. George's Park. All but Gary Cahill are involved,
including three from the under-20 squad, who are also training at the
park, Christy Pym, Paul Digby and Harrison Reed are the chosen ones.
Daniel Sturridge has
been ruled out of the match in Switzerland because of a thigh injury.
He received the injury during a training session this morning. He
completed training early and was sent for a scan.
Sunday, 7 September 2014 - Jordan
Henderson is a doubt for tonight's match after injuring his ankle in
training. If he does miss the match, his place is likely to go to
James Milner, who will be winning his fiftieth cap.
