Diary

Wednesday, 19 November 2014 - It has been confirmed that England will take on UEFA Euro 2016 hosts France and world champions Germany after The FA finalised negotiations with the FFF and DFB.

Thursday, 17 March 2016 - Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater has been named in the England squad for the Euro 2016 warm-up games against Germany and the Netherlands. It is the 26-year-old's first call-up to the senior national team. Tottenham full-back Danny Rose and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge are also included in a 24-man squad. But Wayne Rooney is left out as he recovers from a knee injury.

Sunday, 20 March 2016 - The Manchester derby ended with a United victory. England prospect Marcus Rashford becomes the event's youngest ever goalscorer at 18 years and 141 days. However, Joe Hart was carried off early in the second half with a calf injury, after he rescued his side from a desperate Demichelis back pass. Raheem Sterling also went off injured early, limping off with a groin injury. Both are out for upto a month, missing City's vital Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Monday, 21 March 2016 - Burnley goalkeeper as been called up to replace Joe Hart in the squad. He was initially dropped in favour of the returning Fraser Forster.

Tuesday, 22 March 2016 - The squad meet up at St. George's Park for their first training session. Ryan Bertrand is the only playing missing from the session.

Wednesday, 23 March 2016 - Raheem Sterling will miss about six to eight weeks with a groin injury, meaning he will probably not play again this season. It is eight weeks until the final Premier League day of the season, with the Champions League ten weeks away. England will monitor the situation in the lead up to Euro 2016.
Joe Hart will be sidelined for about two weeks following his calf injury.

Thursday, 24 March 2016 - Ryan Bertrand has returned to his club this afternoon to receive further treatment. The Southampton defender picked up an injury in the match against Liverpool last weekend. He had been assessed by the England medical team but will not be fit in time for the match against Germany. There will be no replacements. The England team depart for Berlin tomorrow morning.

Friday, 25 March 2016 - The England squad arrive in Berlin, and Hodgson reveals that his two leading goalkeepers, Butland and Forster, will start one each of the next two friendly matches, but did not reveal which would start against Germany. Gary Cahill has been confirmed as captain, as he also names his starting XI. Theo Walcott misses the evening's training because of a dead leg.

Saturday, 26 March 2016 - England come back from 2-0 down to beat Germany 3-2. Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier scored their first international goals as England came from 2-0 down to beat Germany in a friendly in Berlin. Toni Kroos and Mario Gómez had put the hosts in control, as England lost goalkeeper Jack Butland through injury. But Harry Kane pulled one back for England with a superb solo effort and Vardy's audacious back-heel brought them level. Dier then headed in the winner to seal the comeback in injury time.

Sunday, 27 March 2016 - A scan on Jack Butland's ankle reveals a fracture. He is sent back to his club for treatment. It is likely he will miss the Euro 2016 Finals as a result. Butland hurt himself moments before conceding Germany's opener and he was in tears as he was taken off on a stretcher.

Monday, 28 March 2016 - Hodgson confirms that James Milner will captain England tomorrow and that Daniel Sturridge will be a starter.
