England will face Montenegro, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, and San Marino
in Group H when they bid to qualify for the 2014 World Cup finals in
Brazil. The draw was made this afternoon in Rio. "It is not an easy
draw," said Fabio Capello. "You have to be really, really focused and
playery game like a final - but that will be another manager's
job."

- England's FIFA 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures have today been
finalised, following a meeting between all of the Group H member
associations in Warsaw. The Three Lions will begin their campaign in
Moldova in September 2012.

2012 - John Terry will be
in England's squad for September's World Cup qualifying matches
against Moldova and Ukraine. The Football Association has yet to
announce a date for Terry's independent hearing over charges he used a
racist slur against QPR's Anton Ferdinand. The Chelsea captain, 31,
denies the allegation and was cleared of racially abusing Ferdinand by
a magistrates' court in July. "I can select him, and I will be
selecting him," said boss Roy Hodgson.

Wayne Rooney faces four weeks on the sidelines after
suffering a gash on his right leg during Manchester United's 3-2 win
over Fulham. He was injured when blocking a free-kick and Fulham's
Hugo Rodallega landed on the England international's thigh. Rooney,
who spent the night in hospital before being released on today, will
miss two World Cup qualifiers.

Roy Hodgson has named a 24-man squad ahead of the opening World Cup
qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine next month.
John Terry has been included, despite missing Chelsea's
victory over Newcastle United at the weekend with a neck injury.
On the evening, Andy Carroll had signed a season-long loan
deal with West Ham United FC.

Andy Carroll limped out of his debut as his new club, West Ham United
beat Fulfam 3-0. He has withdrawn from the England squad due to
a hamstring injury. There will be no replacement, with Theo
Walcott expected to provide adequate cover.
Monday, 3 September 2012 - Ashley
Cole will miss England's match against Moldova on Friday because of an
ankle injury. The Chelsea left-back, 31, returned to his club shortly
after joining up with the squad. The injury is described as "minor",
and he will be assessed on Sunday over his availability for the
qualifier against Ukraine.
Thursday, 6 September 2012 - Adam
Johnson has been ruled out of the match with Moldova following a thigh
injury. He has returned to his club for treatment.
