Diary

Wednesday, 19 November 2014 - It has been confirmed that England will take on UEFA Euro 2016 hosts France and world champions Germany after The FA finalised negotiations with the FFF and DFB.

Thursday, 29 October 2015 - Arsene Wenger has said that Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss Arsenal's next three games and two England internationals with injury. Both players went off in Tuesday's 3-0 League Cup loss to Sheffield Wednesday. They are set to miss Arsenal's games against Swansea, Tottenham and Bayern Munich in the Champions League and friendlies versus Spain and France. "They are out until after the international break," Wenger said.

Thursday, 5 November 2015 - Roy Hodgson has named Eric Dier in his squad to face Spain and France in next weeks friendlies.  21 year old Dier has played in central midfield for Tottenham this season, but has also covered the defensive roles. Injuries prevent the inclusion of Phil Jagielka, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Danny Ings. Andros Townsend also misses out, however, Fabian Delph makes a return.

Tuesday, 10 November 2015 - Midfielder James Milner will miss England's friendlies after failing to shake off a hamstring injury. Roy Hodgson will not call up a replacement for the 29-year-old, who also missed Liverpool's defeat by Crystal Palace on Sunday. His absence increases Tottenham pair Dele Alli and Eric Dier's chances of making a first international start.

Thursday, 12 November 2015 - In today's press conference, Roy Hodgson reveals that Jamie Vardy is carrying an injury and will not feature in the match against Spain, but will hopefully be available for the Wembley friendly.  He also confirmed that captain Wayne Rooney will not start against Spain, but will do so against France.

Friday, 13 November 2015, morning - Joe Hart will captain the side tonight, becoming the first goalkeeper to captain the national team since David Seaman did against Moldova in September 1997. He becomes the 52nd post-war captain.

Friday, 13 November 2015,ening - England are defeated for the first time since June 2014 when Spain beat them with two technically beautiful goals from Mario and Cazorla. Michael Carrick was stretchered off in the last minute with ankle ligament damage.

Saturday, 13 November 2015 - England's friendly against France at Wembley on Tuesday is in doubt after at least 127 people were killed in gun and bomb attacks in Paris. Three people died in explosions around the Stade de France on last night while France played Germany in a friendly. The FA and FFF will hold talks later today to decide if the London match will go ahead.
French newspaper L'Equipe has reported it has already been postponed. French President Francois Hollande has declared a state of emergency and closed the country's borders.
"It is a very serious and tragic matter. If there is any update on the match on Tuesday we will announce in due course.
We will liaise with the French Football Federation over the weekend. The FA sends its deep condolences to the victims of this tragic event but to say anything else would be inappropriate."  an FA spokesman said.
When asked whether the match was likely to be cancelled, FFF media officer Philippe Tournon said: "No decision has been made."
FFF president Noel Le Great said in a statement: "The French Football Federation shares the emotion that shakes the nation following the tragic events of Friday in Paris and around the Stade de France. The FFF shares the grief of the bereaved families and relatives." The FFF later confirmed it had cancelled a France news conference and open training session scheduled for Saturday. The French will train behind closed doors at their Clairefontaine base instead. The attacks raise concerns about fans' safety at next summer's European Championship, which is being held in France.

Saturday, 13 November 2015, 1:20pm - The FFF confirm that Tuesday's friendly with England will go ahead.

Sunday, 14 November 2015 - Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has been called into England's squad. Lingard, 22, has made 11 appearances for England Under-21s but this is his first time with the senior squad. United team-mate Michael Carrick and Leicester striker Jamie Vardy are both injured and will miss the match.

Monday, 15 November 2015 - The England team return to training today, beginning the session at Hotspur Way, Enfield, by observing a minute's silence in respect for those that lost their lives in Paris on Friday night.  Only 22 of the 23-man squad are training, Fabian Delph being the man missing out. However, Hodgson has involved a couple of lower level players into his training, Tottenham's Harry Winks from the under-20's and Shayon Harrison from the under-21's have had involvement.
The departing Fabian Delph is replaced with another Spurs player, Ryan Mason, who has a solitary England appearance.
