All information is
complete to and including England's last match, the fifth of the 2016-17 season,
against Spain on 15 November 2016.
Diary
Friday, 14 October 2016 -
England will face World Champions Germany in a friendly at Dortmund's
Westfalenstadion in 2017.
Monday, 13 March 2017 -
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has 'no chance' of featuring in the
England squad, says his manager Jurgen Klopp. Henderson, 26, has
missed the last three games with a foot injury and will miss Sunday's
trip to Manchester City. "The international break, these two weeks,
can bring him back, but there's no game possible. He cannot train.
Hopefully he can run in the second week of the international break and
then we have to see."
Tuesday, 14 March 2017 -
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has suffered ligament damage to his right
ankle - but it is not thought to be as severe as the injury that
sidelined him for seven weeks earlier this season. Kane was replaced
after seven minutes of Sunday's 6-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over
Millwall. He was hurt when defender Jake Cooper blocked his shot close
to the byeline. Spurs said the injury is similar to the one Kane
picked up against Sunderland on 18 September.
Thursday, 16 March 2017 -
Gareth Southgate named his squad on Facebook for the matches next week
against Germany and Lithuania. Southampton duo Nathan Redmond and
James Ward-Prowse earn their first ever call-ups, whereas Jake
Livermore earns his first call up since September 2012. Jermain Defoe
returns for the first time since being on standby in May 2014. Phil
Jones returns for the first time since November 2015. Luke Shaw
returns also, having not played since September 2015, although he was
a withdrawn squad member a year later in September 2016. Ross Barkley
returns for the first time under Gareth Southgate.
Saturday, 18 March 2017 -
Michail Antonio is likely to be withdrawn from the England squad
because of a hamstring injury, says Hammers manager Slaven Bilić. The
26-year-old reported the injury after today's 3-2 Premier League
defeat by Leicester City, having played the full 90 minutes at London
Stadium. "It looks like Michail won't be able to go with the England
squad," said Bilić. "He felt something. He played the whole game but
the medical team have told me now. He didn't limp off, though, so we
will see."
Monday, 20 March 2017 -
As the players start to arrive at St. George's Park, Michail Antonio
officially withdraws from the squad because of his hamstring injury.
England's new midnight blue third kit is also released.
Tuesday, 21 March 2017 - Phil Jones
returns to Manchester United FC after picking up an injury during the
training session. The session was well-attended by 24 of the 25 man
squad, with only Raheem Sterling having a private training session.
