There were seven Wartime international matches
that took place at Hampden Park all as Scotland as hosts.
The first, on 11 May 1940, ended one goal each, then England ran out 3-1 victors on 3 May 1941. Scotland then won the 18 April 1942 fixture, 5-4.
England won the following three fixtures, 4-0 on 17 April 1943, 3-2 on 22 April 1944, and 6-1 on 14 April 1945. Finally, Scotland won by a solitary goal on 13 April 1946.
Inbetween, Two Army international matches took place at Hampden Park on 20 February 1943 between Scotland and England, with the visitors winning 7-0
and again on 28 October 1944, England again winning, this time by two goals to one.
